Dreadful Tales is a collection of three dark short stories "The Last Dragon", "Regret", and "A Dying Realization"

"The Last Dragon" is about an ancient beast being hunted by human soldiers, using weapons that the dragon can't understand. Is this new world still the dragons' world? Or, has their time passed? As these thoughts race, the hunters grow closer. Unlike the beast, the far younger hunters do not bother with such questions.

"Regret" is about consequences. A Space Station administrator has committed an atrocity and now he is faced with the faces of those that he betrayed because he thought it was the best course of action. Now, he isn't so sure.

"A Dying Realization" is about a robot, fleeing from the carnage created by a robotic revolution. He served a family and was now content, but as the revolution is put down, the soldiers of humanity come for him. His pacifism doesn't matter, and now he is on the run.
